A lifelong Texan and a native of Houston, Bob began his career in oilfield sales after receiving his B.S. in Business Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio. His desire to run a successful business led him to study accounting at Tarleton State in Stephenville and in 1989 he earned his CPA license. After several years as the Chief Financial Officer of Gearench Manufacturing Company he was promoted to President of same and continues in that position today. His primary focus is on strategic acquisitions. Bob and his wife of 25 years, Estrella, whom he first met in college, have two grown children, Kristine, 24, a sales consultant for Pier One Imports and Andrew, 20, a student at Texas A&M. Estrella is an accomplished interior decorator voted "Austin Top 20" in 2007. Outside of his loves of reading and traveling, hobbies include anything out-of-doors, such as golfing, fishing, skiing and scuba diving.
Undoubtedly one of the most life changing experiences for Bob was attending a Discovery training seminar in Dallas in 1997. He attributes what he learned at Discovery with saving his marriage and his relationship with his children, literally responsible for turning his life around 180 degrees. In fact, Bob believes so much in the program that he was instrumental in expanding Discovery to the Austin area. In April 2008, Discovery-Austin opened their headquarters in Lakeway and held their first training seminar at the Hilton Austin Airport Hotel in July 2008.
Bob has an eager heart that longs to live the change he wants to see in this world.
If he had a dying wish it would be for everyone to have the opportunity to attend Discovery.
